Its no secret that it has been a buyers market over the past few years but things maybe seeming to straighten themselves out. There is still alot of inventory (homes currently on the market) which means that prices are staying low - definately tough for a seller who bought a house in the last 5 years or so to find out that their value hasnt increased by much or sometimes at all. Although this article seems encouraging it may not be entirely accurate. The prices of sold homes has slightly increased but it is more a reflection of the types of homes that have been going on the market as of late. We have been seeing those larger family homes being put onto the market so that they may downsize into something smaller with less maintenenace. My advice - do your homework, talk to a professional, get some opinions about value and do not let another agent bully you into selling your house at a discount. Listing your home for less than it is worth negatively effects the market as a whole !
